My initial idea was respected, nurtured, and grown into a compressor capable of delivering tens of decibels of "psychoacoustic" compression – my record is 70 dB of compression! – while remaining extremely musical and coherent. PSP Flare solves one of today's issues of music production: things are either too complicated or too simplistic. It sounds like a great blend of VCA and diode-bridge compression: respectful, punchy, and "classy" on a mix bus, for the film and video game soundtracks I usually deal with.

PSP Flare enables me to both set and forget or really get tweaky if I want to inject more character into my mixes. The side chain section in PSP Flare is giving flexibility to my mixes when setting up for a huge delivery with stems.

PSP Flare is an excellent multifaceted dynamic processor. It could be as subtle or as aggressive as I like, no matter what I do, from gentle vocal leveling to hardcore parallel drum mangling. And it could work channel-independent too!

PSP Flare is my preferred choice for a compressor/limiter that I would use on any instruments if I don't have anything specific in mind. It encompasses all essential features of a simple compressor without overwhelming complexity.

In order to run PSP Flare in 30-day trial mode or activate it, you need an iLok user ID which you can create for free at www.ilok.com, and you need to install the free iLok License Manager application but you don't need any hardware dongle.
You can activate the license in 3 separate locations, each of which can be either a computer or an iLok dongle (2nd generation or above). You can move these licenses at any time using PACE's iLok License Manager software.
