Baby Brown
Baby Brown is a second-generation musician whose journey through the world of music has been as diverse as it is impressive. From touring with a rock 'n' roll band at just fifteen to becoming a Grammy-nominated producer, Brown's career spans decades and genres. An early fascination with 4-track cassette recording blossomed into a Label contract in his mid twenties but it wasn’t until meeting DJ Rectangle in his LA studio that Brown’s talents in music production became apparent. This lead him to work with some of the biggest names in West Coast hip-hop. Today, Brown continues to push the boundaries of music production with his almost entirely ITB approach. Although his input chain is all outboard analog gear, everything else is plugin based - so using the very best available is critical for his productions. After wrapping up a rather comprehensive and broad-based soundtrack for the hit Keanu Reeves show ‘Brawn’ (Disney+) last year, Brown has recently begun his ‘personal journey’ into Immersive audio where he feels his unique sound and style will take on a whole new meaning.
Favorite PSP plug-ins:
PSP auralComp: "Immersive is a relatively new challenge and PSP have the cheat code to save you from a joyless life that would otherwise have you adjusting sixteen multi-mono compressors at a time… Love it.”
PSP auralControl: “I’m finding the PSP auralControl really useful. It may seem unexciting, but turns out it’s a real doozie. Imagine the Utility tool in Ableton but for a multi-channel Atmos bed in pro tools…”
PSP FETpressor: “Just a parallel staple for me in both production and mixing. So quick and easy to set up - there are no caveats with this plug. It’s likely a future classic - just like PSP VintageWarmer.”
