PSP ClassicQlite
PSP ClassicQ lite is a free equalizer plug-in inspired by a range of classic British-style equalizers. It captures the sound and character of the famously musical high- and low-frequency filters found in early Neve EQs, combining them with a highly precise midrange filter.
Building on the classic British EQ concept, PSP ClassicQ lite introduces several useful modern features, including an adjustable high-pass filter, switchable Q settings for the low- and high-shelf filters, and a sweepable midrange bell filter.
Thanks to its flexible design and musical character, PSP ClassicQ lite is particularly well suited to correcting, enhancing, and shaping individual tracks.
PSP ClassicQ lite also features our unique second-generation SAT(uration) algorithm in the output section. It helps protect against digital clipping in software or hardware following the plug-in while adding smooth, analog-style overdrive when the signal is pushed harder.
The SATuration algorithm is positioned after the output level control in PSP ClassicQ lite's internal signal chain, with its ceiling set slightly below 0 dBFS.
Be sure to check out PSP ClassicQ and PSP ClassicQex, which offer all the features of PSP ClassicQ lite along with additional analog-inspired processing, including Class A preamp and output transformer emulations. PSP ClassicQex takes the concept even further by adding an extra low-midrange EQ section for greater tonal flexibility and control.
